Planète Un: La Lune

The Moon is the first planet on our journey. She is the physical embodiment and conduit of the cosmic force mortals call "Magick". In my world, she existed as the aspect of Archangel Gabriel.

Connected with the being known as Cancer, they are attributed with intuition, emotion, and empathy. Water also completes the trio, shown especially in the creation of tides on planet Earth. 

Further correspondences include the metal Silver, Silver candles, Moonstone, Fluorite, the High Priestess - the Chariot - the Moon tarot cards, Spiders, Lunar Moths, Owls, White Peacocks, Adder's Tongue, Monday, the musical note F, and the Theban script.

Gabriel resides in the Emanation of Yesod, being the foundation the eight others above them are build upon.

Magick is often seen as a control or manipulation of reality, but in truth it may only be achieved by oneness with the world around the individual. We do not force the wind to blow or the trees to grow - we ask.

The Moon also shares dominion over Time with Saturn, or rather the power of Time and Cycles is seen in our observance of the Moon growing and fading in 28 days. In Fullness, she may bring lost things back or spells/rituals to fruition. And on those empty moonless nights, things are taken away or cycles renew.

Tied also to Motherhood and our relationships with our own mothers, the position of the Moon at our time of birth gives rise to our hidden natures. Hecate as such is a guardian of Secrets the Moon may hold. Venerated by witches, who themselves aim to know these secrets.

Gabriel's Sigil

In my vision when I connected with the Moon, I saw my silhouette against it in its fullness. A small spec against an eerie near-blinding whiteness. I felt the spirit radiating from her and into me.
